Do members get paid for their work in the Clubhouse?
No, according to Clubhouse Standard #16, members are not paid for any clubhouse work.

What are the hours of operation at the Clubhouse?
8:30-4:30 Monday-Friday. Socials are scheduled on all weekends and holidays, based on interest from members.

How can the Clubhouse help me find a job?
There are various resources and assistance available for job search and employment readiness skills.  This includes resume preparation, interview skills, appropriate dress, and how to access job opportunities. The Clubhouse offers Transitional Employment opportunities (6-9 month part-time position in a local business) as the first step in the return to work. Club Horizon also provides supports for members who obtain Supported and Independent jobs within the community.

What can I learn at the Clubhouse?
Members gain employment skills, social skills, symptom management, and independent living skills by working with other members and staff. This is achieved relationships, the desire for personal growth, and the “work ordered day”’.  The “work ordered day” is specific to the Clubhouse and allows members the opportunities to develop skills working alongside other members and staff in the unit.

Administrative/Employment Unit: This unit is completes all administrative and employment related tasks.  Daily Tasks include attendance, billing, computer tasks, the member bank, new member orientation, and filing.

Culinary Unit: The culinary unit is responsible for preparing lunch daily, operating the snack bar, inventory, shopping, purchasing clubhouse supplies, cleaning, yard work, creating and editing a monthly newsletter, selling meal tickets, and maintaining the budget for each unit.

How long can I be a member of the Clubhouse?
Membership is voluntary and without time or age limits. Members can choose to come back even if they have been away for a while.

How often can/should I come to the Clubhouse?
You can attend as often as you desire. There is no schedule or need to sign up before coming in, so you can stay as little or as long as you’d like.

What is a Work-Ordered Day?
A Work-Ordered day is structured to be similar to any business day. Our work-ordered day is: 8:30 to 4:30 daily.

How much does it cost to be a member of the Clubhouse?
Membership is free. There is a $2 charge for most socials and a $1.00 charge for lunch, unless you bring your own.

Who is eligible to be a member of the Clubhouse?
Most people who are 18 or older and have a diagnosis of serious mental illness living in Wake County. See referral form.
