Monarch joins the National #GivingTuesday
Organization joins movement to encourage spending with a purpose
There is a day for giving thanks. There are two days for getting deals from retailers. Now there is a day for giving back. This year join Monarch for #GivingTuesday, a movement that inspires personal philanthropy and charitable giving during the holiday season. Monarch is excited to once again participate in #GivingTuesday.
We want to invite you to join us for the third annual #GivingTuesday on December 2, 2014.
Monarch has joined #GivingTuesday, a first of its kind effort that will harness the collective power of a unique blend of partners – charities, families, business and individuals – to transform how people think about, talk about and participate in the giving season. On Tuesday Dec. 2, 2014, global charities, families, businesses, community centers, students and more will come together to create #GivingTuesday.
Coinciding with the Thanksgiving Holiday and the kickoff of the holiday shopping season, #GivingTuesday will inspire people to take collaborative action to improve their local communities, give back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they support and help create a better world.
“Monarch is proud to join this national day of giving when we are all encouraged to give back and support local charitable organizations,” said Blake Martin, chief development officer at Monarch. “During the rush of the holiday season we want to give people an easy and convenient opportunity to support Monarch. We are grateful for our current donors who have chosen to support us and provide us with the resources to continue helping people with disabilities throughout the state.”
The initiative will take place on Dec. 2, 2014 – the Tuesday after Thanksgiving – #GivingTuesday will harness the power of social media to create a national moment around the holidays dedicated to giving, similar to Black Friday and Cyber Monday have become traditions that are, today, synonymous with holiday shopping.
“Giving Tuesday brings together thousands of organizations to celebrate the incredible services they provide and we felt it was critical to join the movement that was started to give people a place to give back during the holiday season,” Martin said. “This focus on a national day of giving to support non-profits is also an excellent way to bring awareness to the services Monarch offers in North Carolina.”
