Monarch names Kelly Crosbie Chief Strategy Officer
Former DMA COO to soon lead Monarch’s expansion of integrated care
Former chief operating officer for the Division of Medical Assistance (DMA) for the state’s Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Kelly Crosbie, MSW, LCSW, has been named Monarch’s new chief strategy officer. Crosbie will assume her position with Monarch on July 8.
In her new role, Crosbie will help Monarch to continue its responsible growth and expansion throughout North Carolina by creating, executing, and sustaining the agency’s strategic initiatives. Crosbie will lead the organization’s expansion of integrated care as well as other recent and future initiatives that will help position Monarch to be competitive for the new health insurance exchanges.
Crosbie brings a wealth of experience and expertise of state and federal laws, rules and policies that particularly impact people with mental health, intellectual and developmental disabilities and substance use disorders. In addition to her role as chief operating officer for DMA, Crosbie has served as assistant director for behavioral health services for DHHS overseeing both the Medicaid and Health Choice benefits. Prior to relocating to North Carolina, Crosbie performed similar roles working with or advocating for people with disabilities over the past 17 years in both the public and private sectors.
“We are very excited Kelly chose to join Monarch as we continue to position ourselves as the premier provider in North Carolina serving people with MI/IDD/SA challenges,” stated Dr. Peggy Terhune, Monarch’s chief executive officer.
