You’re Invited! Monarch hosts another ‘Fun Day’ in Williamston
Two years ago, Monarch hosted a Fun Day for people we support, staff, families and community partners in Region 6, which encompasses more than a dozen eastern North Carolina counties. It’s a way to get people together in a community setting to connect and have a good time. The last event was a huge success.
So much so, that a second Fun Day is set for 1 – 4 p.m. on April 2 at Moratoc Park, 102 River Dr., Williamston.
This year’s event features a Western theme with prizes for best costumes. There will be a picnic with cowboys, a DJ, snow cones, and plenty of good food. You might even spot a horse or two.
“All of our sites in this area are invited,” says Eileen Bress, administrative team leader in the eastern region.
The DJ is popular locally and appears at many social events for The Arc, Bress explained. Local photographers will also be on hand to capture all the excitement of Fun Day. Additionally, local businesses have donated door prizes for people supported and their families, she said.
The event is a great way for families to get to know one another, Bress shared.
“At our last Fun Day, some of our families drove from two hours away,” Bress recalled. “They just enjoyed it so much. It was an all-around great time.”
This year’s Fun Day promises to be the same.
