Vocational Opportunities in the Community Participates in Disability Day Parade
Vocational Opportunities in the Community (VOC) recently participated in the second annual Disability Day and Parade hosted by the Randolph County Mayor’s Committee for Disabled Persons.
People we support from both VOC and Studio 651 in Winston-Salem marched in the parade and the bell ringers from VOC performed two songs for the crowd.
Bunny Schoolcraft, VOC site director, said the parade was a great day for the people we support and for the community in recognizing their inclusion.
“Today was a special day for them to be able to close the streets of Asheboro and have a parade with the mayor and city council members. It’s just a great day for Asheboro and Randolph County, parents and people with developmental disabilities.
