Monarch Director of Peer Services Appointed to Governor’s Brain Injury Advisory Council
Monarch Director of Peer Services Brandon Tankersley was recently appointed to Gov. Pat McCrory’s North Carolina Brain Injury Advisory Council.
The 29-member council is part of the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, and, in addition to family members and survivors of brain injury, will be comprised of individuals with clinical, programmatic or policy development expertise.
“I am honored to have been appointed by N.C. Governor Pat McCrory and I am also anxious to work with the Department of Health and Human Services to help contribute towards the definition of brain injury, studying the needs of persons with brain injury, the coordination of prevention efforts, and making recommendations to the Governor, the General Assembly, and the Secretary of Health and Human Services,” said Tankersley.
Appointments to the Council are made by the Governor, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Senate Pro Tem, and the Secretaries of the Departments of Health and Human Services, Public Instruction, Insurance, and Administration. Ultimately, appointees will serve a four-year term.
Tankersley is also a member of the State Consumer and Family Advisory Committee (SCFAC) and The N.C. Integrated Care Steering Committee.
