N&N: Monarch joins The Arc for fitness and music

4-Project-Suceed-Arc-handbellIn Moore County, the people supported are getting involved with The Arc’s Joyful Noise Handbell Choir.

Through a partnership with Sandhills Community College (SCC), practices for Joyful Noise take place in classrooms and the piano lab of the SCC Music Department three afternoons each week.

Participants from Monarch’s Connecticut Avenue and Pennsylvania homes attend practices as part of their “Project Succeed” program, which are Adult Education and Basic Skills classes designed for adults with special needs.

The Joyful Noise Handbell Choir recently performed during The Arc of Moore County’s annual meeting, and have upcoming concerts scheduled throughout the New Year.

Monarch’s Joyful Noise choir includes:
Donna Roth, Roxane M. Gordon, Shandrea McClendon, Edward Mills, Betsy Brouwers,  Jan Blake, Linda Tyndall and Angel Woodson.
