Support Monarch through the United Way

5--united-wayIn the coming weeks and days, you may be invited to LIVE UNITED, an annual United Way campaign that raises money for programs and services critical to communities around the state. Did you know, regardless of your location, you can designate your United Way gift to be shared with Monarch?  Now through October 31, we invite you to give.

Your contribution, regardless of size, will help the people we support realize their dreams. In the past, United Way money has supported Monarch’s advocacy efforts for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, community gardens, anti-stigma and mental health public awareness campaigns, and our recent Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) community education programs, which has trained close to 400 people.

MHFA helps participants identify signs of substance use disorders and mental illness such as depression, anxiety, trauma, psychosis, eating disorders and self-injury and teaches how to assist people who might be exhibiting these signs.

Making a United Way donation is simple. If you receive a pledge form from your local United Way campaign, complete it with your information. When asked on the form if you want to designate your gift to a particular agency, simply note “Monarch / Stanly County United Way” and your gift will automatically be transferred to Monarch.

If you do not participate in your local campaign, you can visit the United Way of Stanly County’s website,, where you can pledge online or print a pledge form to complete. You can give easily over time through a payroll deduction, make a one-time contribution, or be billed for your pledge.

And here’s what’s in it for you! Aside from the feeling good about your contribution, everyone who gives will have their name entered into a drawing for one of three Visa Gift Cards ($25, $25, and $50 in value). Give today and you could win!  For those who give an amount equal to one hour of pay per month for 12 months will receive a bag of special goodies from Monarch.
