National Night Out

nno2014nOn Aug. 5, Monarch joined several Lee County organizations to host National Night Out (NNO) to raise awareness about crime prevention and to highlight the area’s important resources.

The event was held at Monarch’s Lee Psychosocial Rehabilitation facility in Sanford with free food, drinks and giveaways from Chick-fil-a and Sweet Frog.

NNO is designed to heighten crime prevention awareness, generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs, and strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships.

“While this one night is not an answer to crime, drugs and violence, this event represents the kind of energy, togetherness and determination to make neighborhoods a safer place all year,” explained Michelle Ibrahim, lead behavioral specialist at Monarch who helped plan the event. “We are grateful for all the community support and how everyone has come together to make this event successful.”
