Jeanette Wilhelm selected to attend Arc session in D.C.

Jeanette Wilhelm, quality management coordinatJeanette2or and advocate, was selected among only 20 people nationwide to participate in The Arc’s national “Organizing for Social Change” training to be held April 12-13 in Washington, D.C.  The two-day training is designed to assist advocates with various methods for direct action organizing, how to effectively identify coalitions for greater impact and how to define strong advocacy campaigns. This training, based on the tenets of community organizing developed by the Midwest Academy, uses and teaches the "Direct Action Organizing" concept  based on the power of people to take collective action on their own behalf. The training also requires participants to work on at least one event in their respective states using the concepts from Midwest Academy.
