Kristie Cobb, program manager for Monarch’s Montgomery Community Living Skills in Biscoe, has been named to the Moore County Partnership for Children (MCPC) Board of Directors. Kristie will serve a three-year term as member of the 15-person board, which governs MCPC and includes a comprehensive group of citizens including parents, healthcare and childcare professionals, public agencies representatives, corporate and area leaders, communities of faith, educational institutions, municipal government, and individuals who represent civic organizations. Partnership for Children was established to bring together diverse groups and communities to ensure all children enter school prepared.
A yard sale was held at Pennsylvania Avenue Group Home (PAGH) on
Aug. 18, to continue fundraising efforts for a Myrtle Beach trip next month for the eight residents of the home. Donations have come from all areas of the agency, according to Tausha D. Carthens, operations manager, and the residents of the home have played key roles. “We are excited that PAGH PWS are so involved in making this trip happen,” Tausha said. Earlier this year, a spaghetti dinner and silent auction were held to help collect funds for the beach trip.
